A Willow Playhouse

I love these little willow playhouses which we saw in Switzerland and Sweden this summer. The top one is recently built out of long, live willow switches planted close together. String holds the weaving in place. The one pictured below has had time to grow. What a wonderful, sun-dappled place to play.

Hi Beth

First of all, I just love your blog photo. I have seen these houses in the season books, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. I dont have them here to let you know who the author is but these books are a Waldorf must. They have so many gorgeous activities for children. One being building Willow houses.

Have a great day
Warm regards
Suzanne

Dear Suzanne,

I would love to know how to find that book. Let me know the title if you come across it sometime. Thanks! Beth

I love these so much... where did you get the willow branches from? I'd so love to make one!
Blessings and magic.

I took these pictures in playgrounds in Europe...I don't have one! I know that they pollard willow trees in Europe, so it is probably easy to gather enough long willow switches to make a playhouse. Are you going to make one, Magic Onions?
