Felted Sweater Pocketbook

Here's my friend with the birthday pocketbook I made her! She wears beautiful autumn colors with her gorgeous red hair, so I chose to decorate this recycled sweater pocketbook with an felt acorn and oak leaf. This pocketbook used almost an entire felted pullover sweater. I sewed on some vintage buttons from my collection, and some ribbon on the handles to keep them from being too stretchy.

Beautiful, Beth! I really do love it--the pocket is such a pretty touch!!

I attempted to repurpose a wide wool scarf into a little purse the other evening & I failed miserably! :(

I suppose I'll have to try, try...again! You've inspired me!

Hi, Jessica. I'm not sure how I would approach using a scarf. This is easy. It is just an upside-down sweater. The upper edge of the pocketbook is the ribbing of the sweater. Every remaining scrap went into the straps. Good luck. Beth
