Patching Pants

My little boy wears out the left knee first, just like his big brother, who used to slide across the wooden floor on his left knee when he was making a dramatic entrance. To make the patches a little more interesting, I am using scraps of upholstery fabric from retired sample books.

So I have been patching pants. I have even been patching patches on pants.

I love your patches. Unfortunately, when my teenage boys get holes in the knees (yes, it still happens, no idea how), they do not allow patches. They just like their knees to hang out.

Oh boy can I recognize the patches upon patches part! Not too long ago we were getting ready to leave the house and realized that my son had nary a pair without a hole.

I'm always interested in seeing what others do - what's your favorite patching method?
