Sewing and Knitting for a Niece

I love to make things for my nieces and nephew. Here is one of my patchy dolls which I gave to my little niece/Godchild this summer for a birthday present. I wanted to knit something for the doll so I put these yellow and lavender yarns next to the doll for the picture above to see how it looked.


Here she is, loving her new doll. I love to see the way her sweet hands curve so protectively over her doll. She is also wearing another birthday present, a little dress I made her. She loves dresses, so it is so much fun to sew for her. I hope to make some more dresses using this simple pattern for some of the other little nieces. Look how many times I used the word love in this paragraph. I couldn't seem to stop.


My niece chose this yarn for her doll's outfit, because she loves rainbow fabrics and yarns. It is some of my hand spun, hand dyed merino yarn. Good choice! She asked me to make her doll a dress.


And last of all, here she is below wearing a dress and pantaloons which I made her a few years ago. I love seeing her wearing it, and it's great that it still fits so well. I feel inspired to sew looking at these pictures! Do you?
