I really miss quilting. I have been wanting to make a long colorful Amish wallhanging, to hang on the wall down our hallway so we can see it from a distance and it will *glow*. I guess I should just get the fabric and get started! so much to do and learn . . .and spring (with all its outdoor projects) is on its way! It's all good :)
It's absolutely gorgeous!! You can just feel the LOVE that you put into making it!! Just seeing your colourful, beautiful quilt warmed my heart on this cold winter day!! xo maureen
I've been hand stitching my first quilt, using hexagons. Not quite finished, but almost there. Anyway, I can now fully appreciate, with new eyes, the love and care that goes into a handmade quilt. Yours is beautiful and, I'm sure, will give your daughter such comfort.
Wow, Cheryl. I didn't do the whole thing by hand. I used a machine to do some of the quilting, and combined it with some hand stitching. That was a good combination for me...I actually finished it after working on it off and on with my daughter for a couple of years! Good for you....keep at it, you are making something very special.
